What is this?

Eco-feminism is a theoretical movement that views the environment primarily through a gender lens, looking at the connections between domination of the natural world and domination of women. It combines feminist and ecological thought, viewing oppression of both women and the natural world as two components of a patriarchal capitalist system that values human profit over all else. Eco-feminism seeks to restore balance between social organization and natural ecosystems, including critiquing the power dynamics that lead to environmental destruction and the marginalization of women.
