• is is collapses when the eros collapses to become craving
• to then reopen that creating so that it becomes eros so yes there's a vulnerability there
• circuits can handle sometimes it's the case that that the eros can feel more than we can handle but
• develop one's capacity in one skill handling eros so that it stays productive and doesn't shrink into
• having heard the teachings that i gave on eros and sexuality and also having felt like there was a certain rigidity
• which she thought might be blocking her eros um
• romantically in her life and so that she was blocking her eros and that caused a certain aridity
• um a limited idea of um of what eros is um so but they're not feeling right she
• but again going back to the point about eros is as a stressed um that's worth stressing again
• that's worth stressing again eros in our language is not necessarily sexual
• sexual okay so there can be eros that has no no sexual element in it at all and sex can
• sexual element in it at all and sex can certainly be without eros in our in our sense um but anyway eros is not
• certainly be without eros in our in our sense um but anyway eros is not necessarily sexual so perhaps you also
• had a kind of limited idea of um of eros and also what what needed to happen in her life etc
• and suggested that um there was eros in the being painted the painters had eros for her body and
• um there was eros in the being painted the painters had eros for her body and for art and for the making of art
• image of him painting me what his experience of eros and not um confining it or expecting it to be
• um and uh and and in his being and in the whole scene there might be eros also in the sense of being painted of being
• after that interview but it might be that then eros comes in her life for her own body in different ways all kinds of
• tune into actually in this case where is the eros because with the eros will be the soulmaking
• in this case where is the eros because with the eros will be the soulmaking sense right they go together of course
• and again another question was about eros um so again there is eros there
• eros um so again there is eros there um it's in the centurion for christ he
• centurion um in his feelings there was eros there they're erotic in our sense in touch
• um you know i'm looking for the heroes and the eros goes with the soulmaking so tuning into that in the image
• relaxing the usual preconceptions in this case about eros and tuning into ah there's the heroes how does that feel
• receptivity and sensitivity and to notice and tune to where the eros and soulmaking is

• development of the art of practicing with eros so that it is soulmaking and fertile working with the imaginal and

• and he described so this is staying with the image okay allowing the eros with the image really feeling in the body but
• emotion finding the difficulty energy body let the eros constellate let the image feel out and see what happens
• um but sometimes what happens uh with the erotic imaginal or with eros or with desire in our life is that
• about in different ways um of the eros psyche logos dynamic or a better word is an a block in a certain
• beauty of the self's eros the self's passion my eros my passion is beautiful am i seeing
• the self's eros the self's passion my eros my passion is beautiful am i seeing it am i seeing the beauty of myself in
• but in order for the soulmaking dynamic and and the expansion and the eros to be sustainable to be stable to be fertile
• with the sense of the beauty of the self and the self's eros so it's good to to notice if there's a
• lovely even divine either that there's so much eros and devotion to etc can i notice i'm not taking the attention off
• direction of the self and in the direction of the eros yeah
• moving unblocked in one direction the eros that the measurements filling out and flowing penetrating deeply richly
• and with all that eventually the images sort of love if you like becomes eros so the the forest we could say the
• that before the four object self world um and eros need to be included included in the soulmaking dynamic
• is the self as well so one one thing you can do so there's eros there's this imaginal thing going on
• mentioned sometimes with an image and with the eros there there is a sense of duty
• space to tolerate there can be even an increase of the eros with that um but there's uh
• the whole imaginal constellation of of the eros is um seen felt perceived as if you like
• desire it's this divinity it's the buddha's eros it's the buddha's desire or it's the the deities or the the
• the phenomenology of um our experience and our exploration of eros and soul making because seeing the desire as the
• know himself fully as possible um then the eros sustains or even expands increases deepens gets richer
• more clearly as this is this is god's soulmaking dynamic this is god's eros psyche logos and sometimes we can have a
• we get the sense that all instances of eros are if you like instantiations of the

• well i'm going to call it the movement of eros uh for instance our soul passions
• nature of seeming reality but the movement of eros and of soul passion can be huge marked deep or
• realm in the direction of the soul passions or the subtle movements of eros and conversely the investigation of my

• meaning as just a seeking of sense pleasure i don't i simply equate eros and love and i and i don't simply equate
• this retreat um eros a desire a movement of the psyche of the being that opens deepens
• unlike craving eros always has something to do with depth and with expansion and with the
• terms of its sexual arrangement we'll talk more about this later the eros always has something to do as wrapped up
• always has something to do as wrapped up wrapped up in the movement of eros in this
• i'm including that also very subtle it's a subtle movement of eros subtle movements of eros
• a subtle movement of eros subtle movements of eros so we're talking here about
• relationships with desire craving clinging eros whatever words which is understanding
• sort of say that that every um uh erotic desire a desire of eros the movement of eros needs to be physically acted upon
• desire a desire of eros the movement of eros needs to be physically acted upon needs to be made materially manifest
• of self other world time of desire and eros itself for the whole cosmos inner and outer
• and if we're going to open up this this concept of eros which i will do very fully in this
• or dimensions of desire or this thing called eros and that's fine or rather maybe it's fine
• but in the direction of what we're calling eros and yet
• include um an exploration of eros fully richly deeply on the path can't postpone it
• if you're doing that at the same time as you're investigating and allowing eros and fire and passion
• possibility of something we're going to be calling eros that is a movement that brings soulmaking again we're going to
• so that it recognizes this movement recognizes eros delineates it perhaps it has a way of conceiving and thinking
• has a way of conceiving and thinking that's actually supportive to the eros supportive then to the totality the
• because that investigation and that movement of eros and also just like the um
• clinging this deep and wide exploration subtle exploration of eros also but in a different way opens up our sense of the
• wide and eventually all pervasive and movement of this uh of eros and soul making these for others are the most
• investigate this whole question of desire and eros and making delineations and distinctions

• hearing all this talk about eros and the imaginal and engaging these practices trying out
• sexual um the eros and the images um you know be very uh normal i think in
• other discernments more refined discernments regarding eros and craving etc
• this just indulging greed all this talk about eros and erotic imagine isn't that just indulging greed
• actually um discerns between eros and craving and investigate zeros and opens to it
• said how do how we have to begin to discern between eros and craving in the first place we've talked some about this

• and but on the other hand don't want to be too naive we've said you know eros is fire
• fire fire there's something about eros it's like a fire and fire is
• the moment um but also something may start as eros and uh if if we're not careful may just
• in the territory you know when we play with fire when we're with eros and and then that um
• deities and phallic deities and um uh the the eros and the sexuality that's that's visible there
• with the territory i think of soul making and opening to eros and and fire and again i don't want to be alarmist
• okay you know again we're making the point that eros and image will go together there
• completely it's not imaginal unless there's eros and it's not eros unless there's the imaginal dimension but
• um eros and sexuality and the feminine that would confuse me
• and then so i let myself experiment in the meditation with the eros with with the erotic imagine with with the sexual
• interaction and that opened up um the whole sense of the eros of the cosmos on multiple levels it's like it's
• terms of the movement in relationship to doubt with respect to all this eros and imaginal but basically
• um with respect to desire and craving and eros it's that spirit that the buddha buddha was pointing to and he
• exploration needs sensitivity and this investigation in particular into eros and into the imaginal into soulmaking
• all the subtleties of that relating of the kinds of eros or the kinds of love with respect to each imaginal figure
• imaginal erotic interaction what's the kind of eros here what's the kind what are the subtleties of the relating what
• um with with the way we are with our eros with human others or sexually with others we just have this oh i know that
• constellates an intentionality with respect to the image and the eros yeah so i'm not just
• and of course you know um eros is distinguished from craving and imaginal practices distinguish from
• what's the purpose of delineating something called eros again talked about it before in this
• and divinity um the opening of eros psyche logos i mean ideation and image is actually

• so the soul wants soulmaking which which implies eros because eros is a an element of soulmaking indispensable
• element of soulmaking and soulmaking also involves with the eros that the um self
• um self of that the world and even our eros itself become imaginal yeah so we've
• talked about all itself other world and eros become imaginants part of soul making
• reflecting and we also said that with the eros there's always got to be this and
• limitations on the movement and the growth expansion of eros of psyche of logos and also of emotional heart life

• is not possible for the sense of self of a world and eros to become imaginal either one has only literalized the
• desire and so it just there's desire there it's craving rather than eros and and nothing is imaginal for whatever
• and as we've talked about before without the eros being allowed to instigate the soulmaking dynamic and things to become
• then this desire is just craving and not eros and it has to move so to speak on a on a
• um of the whole soul in a way or a large portion of the soul because the eros is not the libido that and the heroes are
• others what happens then to the eros or the desire
• it something to do with a relationship between eros and hatred and is there are there certain
• towards soulfulness towards soulmaking towards image towards eros that may be in some ways i'm liable to or
• something that's actually quite similar so eros so what's the connection here possibly eros
• so eros so what's the connection here possibly eros delineates right we talked about this
• detail in previous retreats and so what does eros do it create it complexifies it creates distinctions it creates and
• fear of the dissolving of the objects of eros that have been created discovered through this process of fine delineation
• here in terms of thought and the direction of my eros and and the whole scent of soul there carving that out in
• this is interesting so is there a relationship between eros and hatred you know uh hatred in bali in sanskrit the
• course with the two notes it's part of the eros as well that's why this
• that's why this um sort of eros can be dangerous dangerous a double-edged sword if you
• actual differentiation that comes with eros and the tendency or the danger of hatred there
• differentiations that his soulmaking process made that that his eros and the heroes of his intellect and sensibility
• and his eros all of it was allowed to to be come into the soulmaking process
• frustrated desire there's the movement of incipient movement of the eros and the day in the sense powerlessness and
• for something to become image the self of the world eros to become image or some combination of all these
• if they're they don't uh if the self other world and eros don't open up to the imagine with this
• want there's the extension into the beyonds of the eros the angel out ahead always moving ahead the infinite
• other people as well when self are the world and eros cannot become image
• a blocked soulmaking some soulmaking in some direction of eros and image and soulfulness that wants to
• so this quest involves search involves eros regarding values involves stretch involves questioning and is potentially

• there's loveliness coming up because of the eros or whatever and the beauty there and the opening in the energy body
• and resonating with them and opening with them and the eros and etc um then i'm doing you know then the
• more thing right now about it um with regard to eros and the hero psychologos dynamic
• psychologos dynamic it's when we define when we defined eros we included the pothos element in the
• we included the pothos element in the definition of eros so eros wants more contact more connection more touching

• but sometimes sometimes the the more with eros wanting more may just be uh to linger
• the loveliness and delight that are part of the subjective experience of eros rather than a wanting to reach
• sensitive to and respectful of of what does the eros want right now what kind of more
• with sensing the soul uh so eros and the euro psychologus dynamic so making dynamic have rhythms
• from the descriptions we've given in the past of the way eros works and and the way that soulmaking dynamic that you're
• and open at a slower pace than eros or psyche or image
• always in motion with the soulmaking dynamic and eros is always wanting that kind of more
• that excitement um is is of course part of the eros but sometimes the excitement can fizz in in
• this for instance like the eros is so much leaning towards the other
• and so we can counterbalance that not diminish the eros but actually in a way add to it by allowing ourselves or
• imaginable um so that there the eros can flow both ways there can actually be more errors
• ways there can actually be more errors but it's balanced the the eros flowing towards the self balances the eros
• but it's balanced the the eros flowing towards the self balances the eros towards the other and the world etc
• perception with time and that allows the eros and and the soulmaking to flow in that direction feel out in time and that
• whatever we're sensing the imaginal object of the eros to penetrate the being to touch the being it's working
• um we kind of put it as if eros comes first and then
• to see things so from the sort of initial impulse of eros through the expansion of psyche then the expansion
• um there may be um eros for logos in other words a person starts to the libido starts to to
• conceptual framework of soulmaking for example but when there's eros for logos the logos is ignited as well the eros
• example but when there's eros for logos the logos is ignited as well the eros ignites instead of inseminating psyche
• a logos of the logos or logos in general um uh logos is ignited through eros's passion for logos
• last as a result of the expansion of the eros and then the psycho image it could be the eros impregnates logos and
• eros and then the psycho image it could be the eros impregnates logos and there's this passion
• ideation and then logos expands and then eros and image can come from there etc so there's all kinds of possibilities

• strong feelings we have strong loud and strong eros in relationship with what we sense as
• question is whether it's sensed with eros whether it sense with soul remember eros doesn't mean is way more

• practices to do that and also to feel uh to sense to open to and handle the eros that comes with it
• didn't sound to me like there was much eros or dimensionality there as long as i can yeah it sucks chemo and i can't do
• anti-libidinal stance reflects a refusal of eros we talked about them pretty sure it was
• we talked about them pretty sure it was in the eros unfetter talk so it might have been in in in another series
• whole life is it actually driven by a refusal of eros and a kind of anti-libidinality
• or is it held on this whole philosophy in a very limited range of eros inhibitor
• socializing the wine and the good meal that's not what we call eros that's not what we call eros you can
• that's not what we call eros that's not what we call eros you can have all that and it looks like another
• little aloof maybe the striding acetic may have much more eros much more libido i wonder sometimes at least is it
• with eros and the libido that go with um
• an objection to a a recoiling from a fear of the eros and the libido a refusal of that that's driving things
• principle the soul of soulmaking it must it must love eros and be okay with eros in order to let the soulmaking you
• must it must love eros and be okay with eros in order to let the soulmaking you know for something to happen because
• know for something to happen because soulmaking it eros it's an anti-labidinality is kind of a locking
• is perhaps a suppression at least the absence the disallowing of eros and love maybe the total suppressional and you
• maybe the total suppressional and you know partial so suppressing of eros and love in relation to ethics
• when one's whole mind and soul and heart and eros in correspondence with that rational that that order of the
• we entertain a logos a conceptual framework that eros is epistemologically significant
• obligations eros has epistle epistemological significance because it can open up for
• framework that involves a different view of eros and gives it a kind of a place an important place in our ontology and
• believe that this yearning that we have this eros that we have can can have been somehow implanted in uh in a human
• so we're set up to move into truth in our eros is actually implanted by god and it's
• have the sense as we develop soulmaking practice of our eros being divine having its roots in in the divine being given
• levels aspects beyond dimensions open that eros is satisfied and then it moves again but there's

• where uh where there's really a lot of eros going on there and i'm not going to talk so
• turbocharged there in terms of the because of the eros and the inseminate
• um at least a lot of eros and image can be activated in that in those relationships

• um fully fully imaginal fully authentic um sensing the soul and eros on that whole spectrum from the
• kinds um maybe there is eros maybe it's sexual maybe there's a sexual image and sexual
• um maybe their sexual their sexual desire but it's not really eros in the full sense that we mean it in terms it's
• um or i may be able to see and sense my my human eros as the manifestation of divine eros
• my human eros as the manifestation of divine eros all this all this range is possible and
• now i said i wasn't going to talk much about eros and i'm or rather i'm not going to talk
• much about when there's really a lot of eros and between the two members of the dyad
• spark or just the conditions are supportive just how much eros may arise for the other
• um can i you know can i handle all that eros all that does that all that sexual energy if that's what's arising
• also what about just the inevitable um slips of eros into craving the contraption into craving
• can support the movement the expansion of craving into eros and of rarefied perceptual fixation fixated image into
• there's a lot of desire whatever it's definitely got some eros in it because it's soulmaking
• working in a diet there's a lot of euro sexual eros that arises and and people decide to you know be sexual together
• that formal space and you let the eros channel into the sensing with soul
• one feels um lots of um sexual desire sexual eros for for the other and lets the other know
• reassured that it's okay for that degree of eros and desire and sexual energy to be around that the other person doesn't
• mentioning a few things about when the sexual eros gets really uh quite strong and intense but
• um let's say that eros as as we've pointed out so much over the last few years it's

• perception of the sensitive soul of the sensibility that is refined through eros through interest through arousal

• way beyond that there is this expansion of the eros in the eros moving through moving through the perception moving
• when you you'd be pretty put off in terms of the eros that you feel towards someone in their body
• seek to gratify it's eros in his view it's desire for sense pleasure
• um of the ways the body feels eros most easily and what's available there in
• easily and what's available there in terms of the way the eros moves in and through the body where and how etc
• everything including the body including the eros in all kinds of ways
• we might say in its opening up of the body and of the eros and of the sexuality etc
• way polyvalently might mean it can uh be situated here or there that the eros the the arousal the erotic connection
• soulmaking meaning that the whole sense of eros and the body as a
• location and a vessel uh and a point of contact of the eros um
• um and an object and a subject of the eros that becomes
• ways in other words the body presents and the air and the eros of the body grows new facets grows new ways things
• erotic polydirectionality of the eros increase in the modes and the surfaces
• and the the subjects if you like of the eros within one body
• whatever the block of the eros so we can ask it individually but also
• a soulmaking want what what does the eros want and to me that's interesting
• intelligence intelligences has desire has eros has soul has will and this sense of the body the

• idea by fixated fans i mean not one that's rich in cell phones and eros and it's got that kind of rigidity to it and
• heard me say or or perhaps another teacher around exploring eros and sexual images and sexual eros and all that it
• teacher around exploring eros and sexual images and sexual eros and all that it never goes never contravenes that in
• complicating enriching stretching of um eros psyche and logos they they feed in to each other and kind of
• our times over the last few years eros like the soulmaking dynamic is liberated in
• and in that way eros doesn't collapse then it doesn't run out of
• to create discover it has eros in relationship to awakening doesn't collapse because it has an
• of who desires or has eros for awakening what is the relationship of who desires
• awakening what awakens is what has the eros for awakening so
• existence and make them objects of of eros objects imaginal
• and we can say either there is not enough eros so for example i'm awakening yeah there's definitely a certain amount
• something's actually just stagnant there there's perhaps not enough eros there to open up further territories and
• either not enough eros to stimulate and push that whole
• so either um there's not enough eros or the logos is blocked and stuck in a conception of
• not spiritual and etc but either way whether it's the eros that's kind of uh
• that's kind of uh there just isn't enough eros there's no more fire there's no more uh fire to the
• the land that i will show the pastures new pastures new fields of eros psychologos
• the man that soul opens up the land that uh eros psychologos open up as the soulmaking dynamic cause
