What is this?

The right hemisphere of the brain is responsible for a range of functions, including emotional processing, global awareness, holistic and contextual understanding of a given situation, and the ability to draw interconnections between seemingly disparate things. It is often associated with creativity, imagination and an overt attention to context, as well as a more free-flowing style of thinking which allows for individual interpretations to be drawn from any given information. It is associated with intuition, as opposed to the logical, analytical reasoning of the left hemisphere. Together, these functions form the basis of what is often referred to as 'holistic understanding', the ability to see the bigger picture and draw meaningful and interconnected conclusions about the world around us.
