What is this?

Systems thinking is an approach to problem-solving that considers the whole system containing the problem, rather than the individual components of the system. By recognizing that the parts of a system may interact in ways that create unanticipated outcomes and viewing the system as an evolving whole which constituents are inseparable and complex entities, systems thinking can enable determination of the root causes of a problem while connecting its impacts and implications to the broader system. This allows us to identify leverage points to intervene and encourage adaptability, anticipatory direction in designing policies and improve the sustainability of systems.
