What is this?

The metaverse is a concept of a collective, shared, and persistent virtual environment separate from reality. It is composed of a large connected network of virtual reality, augmented reality, and ultimately mixed reality spaces whose users can interact with each other and their surroundings. It is commonly envisioned as a 3D version of the Internet, with its own physical laws, with citizens interacting and collaborating with each other in both spontaneous and organized activities and adventures. It is an ever-evolving digital platform with the potential to profoundly enhance our collective creativity, knowledge, and social organization.
