What is this?

Collective action refers to when two or more individuals, organized or unorganized, act together in pursuit of a shared goal or to further a common interest. By joining forces, individual actors can have an increased power as well as an amplified effect on their shared environment, which helps advance their interests over those of another group or individual. Collective action is especially effective when participants share a common agenda or idea, as opposed to disparate interests or motivations. By working together, collective action can provoke political, economic, and/or social changes that positively impact the group's goal.
