What is this?

Homegrown humans is an idea first formulated in the 1990s, which spins the notion of “knowledge worker” and “knowledge work” on its head. Rather than offshoring, outsourcing, and automating human intelligence and experience away, Homegrown Humans proposes a networked structure that leverages in-house expertise and capability, while also delivering collective intelligence through strategic alliances. Homegrown Humans upskill and empower individuals to be more autonomous and self-directed, while also leveraging the powers of peer networks and collective action to deliver more sustained and accelerated results both internally and externally. The implications of this shift in mindset and application for organizations, their talent base, and their future workflows are enormous.
